WEATHER or not
RAIN – Rain cancelations are based on actual conditions in the hours immediately before the lesson. Cancellations are not based on forecasts. During the summer, having coffee for half an hour will sometimes solve the problem.
HEAT – During the summer we have to factor excessively hot days into our planning. We’ll use the Heat Index, commonly referred to as “Feels Like” temperature, to guide us. For most, a Feels Like in the high-80’s is too warm to do a lesson. (For the most athletic among you, we can get out there and enjoy a good sweat at warmer temperatures.) We’ll use the Feels Like temperature as shown on the morning of the lesson – not the forecast from the day before.
ICE and SNOW: – With some warm layers and a crisp bright day, winter riding can be invigorating and fun. The parks are empty, availability is better, and you can get a head start on the upcoming season. Of course, once there’s ice and snow on the ground, we’ll have to be patient. But most winters, we can keep riding and doing lessons right up to the Holidays, and then again starting late Feb or so.
VB judgment will prevail in making weather related cancellations. Weather related cancellations will be rescheduled or refunded as you wish.
