How much is it? Where do you do the lessons? What if it rains? What if I need to cancel?
Here are the details you’ll need as you make your decision to book with Virtuous Bicycle.
Please read it through, then submit your NEW STUDENT QUESTIONNAIRE at the bottom of this page.

PRIVATE LESSONS

STANDARD LESSON
Standard Lesson $225
A Standard 2-hour Lesson

EXTENDED LESSON
Add $50 for an extra hour
Take a little extra time, go a little slower, progress a little further.
Extended Lessons are appropriate for the fit student who can work and focus for 3 hours.

BOOK a SERIES
Most students want / need more than one lesson. You can ensure optimal spacing between lessons and save money by booking a Series right from the start. Priority will always go to committed students who request a Series.

WHEN TO APPLY
Plan ahead! Lessons are rarely available on short notice. Avoid disappointment, book well in advance to secure the dates you need.

PLANNING YOUR LESSON
Planning your lesson begins with submission of a New Student Questionnaire. (Link below, keep reading) We’ll review your profile and get back to you with an evaluation and a suggested plan to get started.

LOCATION
We’ll select a location that’s best suited for each lesson, and locations will change as you progress. Lessons are held at various locations in Manhattan and Randalls Island. Students are expected to travel outside their home neighborhoods.

BIKE and HELMET
Bring yours, or request a VB student bike. (recommended) A $25 rental charge will be added to your invoice.

SCHEDULING
When you fill out your New Student Questionnaire, you’ll be asked about your availability, and a selection of available dates will be offered to you. Lessons are held first thing in the morning – beginning between 7:30 am and 9:30 am depending on the season. We do not offer evening / after-work lessons.

HEADS UP! Weekend lessons are… challenging. Many students plan mornings off for their weekday lessons. We begin early and you’ll only miss a few hours at work.

PAYMENT
When we’ve locked in a date, you’ll receive a PayPal invoice. You can use your credit or debit card at PayPal.
Your payment secures your booking. All lessons must be paid in advance. See REFUNDS in the next paragraph.

CANCELLATIONS and REFUNDS
Reschedule your lesson or receive a full refund* when you cancel with 48 hours notice.
Short-notice cancellations will receive partial credit toward a rescheduled date. Here’s how it would work:

Notice Period	What happens
More than 48 hrs notice	No problem – you can request a new date or a full refund.*
Less than 48 hrs notice	Receive a VB Credit Voucher** for 50% of the lesson fees. Apply the credit for future lesson dates.
Less than 24 hrs notice	With regrets, no credit can be issued for these short-notice cancellations.

* PayPal’s transaction fees of 3.49% will be deducted from your refund amount.
* Rescheduling is subject to availability. Remember, gaps between lessons will impact your progress. Protect your scheduled dates!
* * Credit Vouchers have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Credit Vouchers expire at the end of each season (Oct 31st).

Weather related cancellations will be rescheduled or refunded as you wish. VB judgment will prevail in making weather related decisions. *Weather Policy
